I hardly ever write a review but I feel compelled to say I am very happy with the Flexible Mirror/Needle Through Mirror by Tony Karpinski. The quality and workmanship of the mirror and frame are well above average. The wooden frame is tastefully inlaid,, Hallmarked, and looks very nice. The wood is sanded fairly smooth, which makes sliding the frame in and out of the bag very easy. And I absolutely love the hidden h***es! They operate quietly and as smoothly as silk. You can show either side without any problem! Both sides of the real mirror are reflective, as it seems to be 2 mirrors with a spacer in between glued back-to-back. Although I think this 'double' mirror looks nice it makes it thicker and heavier. The thickness and/or weight doesn't effect handling for me, but it does make it more difficult to keep quiet. There are 2 rubber pads that helps eith this but in my opinion it is not enough. So, I may add something extra to mine. This thick mirror also requires the frame to be thicker and the s**t to be wider. Of course the larger s**t naturally makes it easier for prying eyes to see. But I also found it useful as the wood flexes enough to hold the mirror stationary when needed. (I'm not telling you to do this as I can see where this maneuver could possibly damage the frame. Although I doubt it is designed to work in this manner, mine works easily and perfectly. I don't feel there is much risk for mine, but yours may be different. Use caution and your own judgment!!!) I should mention that the front and back of the frame are equally beautiful and deceptive. Therefore the hidden h***es, along with the 'double' mirror effect, might make distinguishing the front from the back difficult. Again, not a negative for me. In fact I love it like this, so it's a big positive for me, but I thought I should mention it. The only real issue with this is knowing the front from the back in order to determine the direction of the b**d. It's no big deal. Just know that both sides look pretty much the same. The needle is okay, and even comes with a corked storage tube, it is fine but I might prefer one that is a little longer. After more use I will decide whether to replace it or not. I am not crazy about the bag. It is made from a decent material that has a tiny bit of stretch and punctures easily enough. And although I have only used it a few times, the needle holes seem to 'heal & seal' fairly well. The bag is sized so that the frame fits nicely and handles easily. Also there is adequate space and stretch for the 'magic' to happen, and to allow more centralized piercing if desired. However, the bag DOES NOT have a zipper. That is a BIG disappointment for me because I believe flashing and exposure can occur at the open end. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. I knew nothing about this particular Flexible Mirror and could not find a review anywhere. I considered several models but I took a chance on this one, mostly because of Tony's reputation. I'm glad I did! I prefer the look of it to any of the other Flexible Mirrors that are currently on the market. While I'd love to have a Wellington or Owen Magic Supreme Flexible Mirror, Tony Karpinski's is much easier to find and much more affordable. I think it is a great prop at a reasonable cost. The bag is really the only issue for me, and it's not a huge deal. If it had a zipper I would be satisfied with it. I may even have a zipper sewn in mine, or try to have a new bag made if I can find some appropriate material and a good seamstress. Okay, I probably left something out but I hope this helps someone. I searched and searched and could find NO information on this prop anywhere other than the manufacturer's description. I rarely take a blind leap when buying magic anymore but I'm sure glad I did this time. Also, I have to say thanks to USA Magic Tricks. They had the best price on this item and shipped it extremely fast. This is my first order with them, but hopefully it will not be my last! Thank you!
